Had a long talk with Jill at Nepenthe about starting up a business that needs loans, permits, and licenses. She had a lot of terrific advice and the thing I found most inspiring are her opinions on where to start. She told me the entire start up process is very nebulous and there is no one point of origin for finding out all the answers. I had made the assumption that some part of the state government would tell you everything you need to know but this is not the case. Inspiration leads to experience and when the experience has lead to quality thats when you jump in feet first. Thats what they did, it took a long time but they got there and their doors are open and the business is doing well.
