Yesterday was the last press using the home kitchen whatever is laying around method. Next year I will own a real mill and press. Luckily I had a bowl that fit neatly into a colander which spread the pomace fairly thin for a hand press. Efficiency was poor and the raccoons will feast well on the compost I am leaving but alas I still got 1.3 gallons from 12 to 15 pounds of apples.
