The supply of stored apples continues to dwindle at many orchards. Several in my area are already closed. Brown's Orchard up in PA will be open and pressing until March so I will journey up there a few times to get 25 more gallons or so. I hope to make it to Heyser Farms in Silver Spring MD this week, they have a special apple in their orchard named Spencerville Red Hard Apple. Great Shoals Winery makes a cider for Heyser Farms, it will be interesting to taste theirs and see what results I get using the same apple.
